We’ve seen where many viral infections like influenza, (Bird, Swine, etc) and Ebola have originated from animals. Many of these show up out of the orient where people are eating animals that don’t fit with the clean food laws dictated in the Bible. I’m not strict in avoiding many of these foods, but I have a great respect for eating as clean as possible, and interested in protecting my health as best I can.
The Wuhan coronavirus is predominantly a respiratory virus which causes pneumonia. Commonly seen are coughs, fever, and breathing difficulties. In some cases there can be organ failure. Remember, this is viral, which means antibiotics don’t work on it. Antiviral drugs have proven to fail as well.
It’s important to remember that a strong immune system is your best defense against viruses like this. Because of this, anything which detracts from your immune health should be avoided. Since the lungs are the primary target of this virus, smoking and vaping should be contra-indicated. Those with emphysema or COPD should be proactive with anti-viral support like Echinacea and St John’s Wort.
People who’ve died from the disease are usually those already in poor health. Those on chemo therapy should be using nutritional support to aid what’s left of their immune system. There are amazing herbs which can assist in preserving the immune system even when being treated with chemo therapy or radiation. This is something we often help people with as a means of complimentary medicine while undergoing these types of medical treatments.
China’s national health commission reports, as of January 27, 2,700 confirmed cases and 56 deaths. The medical peer review Lancet puts the total of cases at 75,800. This just goes to show how varied reporting can be. Cases outside China are minimal with very few here in the United States. Many go through minor cold symptoms just as many here go through influenza or the common cold, and fully recover with no lasting effects and never being reported.
The Lunar New Year Holidays celebrated in China has created fears of the virus spreading further as millions of the Chinese travel home for the celebration. Because of the virus in Wuhan and other cities, the government has created a lock down and canceled celebrations till the epidemic is over. Shanghai Disney said on its website it would temporarily close starting Saturday, 1/25/2020. In response to the prevention and control of the disease outbreak and in order to ensure the health and safety of its guests and staff, they wrote: “We will continue to carefully monitor the situation and be in close contact with the local government, and we will announce the reopening date upon confirmation.”
Because symptoms vary so much in severity, it’s hard to get a true measure of how wide spread the virus is. Those with robust health may encounter the virus and have such mild symptoms to just chock it up to a touch of the stomach flu or a light cold. Those with compromised immune systems are who we need to work with at bolstering their immune potential. How concerned should we be? Cases here in the U.S. have been very limited. In China it’s a totally different case.
Person to person transmission is primarily through being coughed on or through saliva. With this in mind, those infected should wear a mask when in public. For us here, my cold and flu tincture which I’ve been making for the last 35 years has proven the test of time at both prevention and in the treatment of most all bacterial and viral infections. Dr Kerry Bone’s favorite herb is Echinacea and he takes the Echinacea Premium every day and is never sick. I use this high grade echinacea in making my Cold & Flu tincture, which we’re continuously making this time of year.
