If your car requires high octane fuel to run correctly, giving it the cheap stuff most of the time and the good stuff only occasionally won’t give you the performance you need. Using some kind of additive like high potency synthetic vitamins trying to make up for poor fuel choices still won’t work.
Eating processed, devitalized foods, hoping some high potency vitamins will make up the difference is preposterous. Yes, we need to supplement since most commercially grown foods contain less nutrition than what was available years ago.
Topsoil throughout much of the world isn’t what it used to be. Soil organisms responsible for building healthy soil are lacking due to agricultural chemicals. Toxic chemicals can be found even in soils used to raise organic crops due to their presence in the atmosphere.
The most nutritious foods you can consume are those you grow yourself in soil which you’ve protected and built up with proper organic matter.
Unfortunately, most of us don’t live in a climate where we can grow our food year round. This being the case, we must rely to some degree on purchased foods, and trust the growers, harvesters, transporters, and stores to protect the quality of our foods.
Many of the enzymes in foods diminish over time from when they’re picked. A prime example are the wonderful peas I grow each year. If I shell them and eat them right away, the pods remain firm and easy to pop open, and they are sweet and crisp. If they’re put in the refrigerator over night or left on the counter, they get soggy and hard to shell. With this, I question the degree of nutrition they provide. Fresh lettuce out of the garden tastes dramatically better than that out of the grocery store, even when it’s organically grown.
The vitamins and minerals our bodies require to function at our optimum must be configured correctly with the appropriate enzymes. Because of this, vitamin-mineral supports which are not in a whole food form fail to provide the high octane fuel our bodies require. Because of this, I find it hard to recommend high potency vitamin-mineral supplements which are not whole food based. Many companies will add food components with the isolated vitamins and minerals, but this isn’t the same.
Auto manufactures include information on the recommended fuels and oils to be used in their vehicles. If you fail to follow the recommended protocol, you may void the warranty. When I bought my new chainsaw, if I bought gas and oil recommended for the saw, they doubled the warranty period. Obviously, they’ve found that if proper fuel is used, they don’t have to put out the funds to repair their equipment. The same is true with us.
I’ve often said that the two most common causes of disease are sins of omission, or sins of commission. In other words, leaving out what must be there, or putting in what doesn’t belong there. Correct fuel to operate the cells of our body comes from strong, healthy plants and animals. Artificial and chemically foods interfere with metabolism. These also put an undue burden on the organs of elimination. This includes the liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, skin, and lymphatic system.
When any of these organ systems show disease, it’s either an overload, or a condition where the normal processes of the organs are lacking nutrients required for normal function. A perfect example would be a lack of vitamin A. This nutrient is responsible for maintaining healthy mucous membranes. When lacking, we see sinus problems, ear infections, respiratory distress, and leaky gut issues. Since this essential nutrient is abundant in fresh organic greens, it’s not uncommon to see kids who refuse to eat these greens or when their parents fail to provide them, suffer repeated ear infections.
These ear infections aren’t a condition of an antibiotic deficiency. Mainstream medicine is mostly about controlling disease instead of identifying why it’s there in the first place and correcting the underlying cause. Repeated use of antibiotics creates systemic problems. We go from an ear infection due to insufficient vitamin A to digestive damage where multiple systems are now being starved of the nutrition required. Now the entire body becomes involved.
Are we into controlling disease or curing it. The first step to healing is to properly feed the body. After Jesus raised Jairus daughter, He instructed those present to feed her. Once we deal with the spiritual, mental, and emotional components which can harm the body, we must consider the foundations of health and vitality. The reason I’m such a proponent of whole food nutrition is because I’ve seen it work time and time again for my own health and the health of my loved ones.
