Recently I was encouraged to create podcasts which can be listened to and shared. After investigating how to make that happen, I purchased a microphone and headset for my computer. Now to find an outlet to sponsor and make it happen.
When attempting to record, it’s amazing how often I get interrupted. Next comes a sign on the door that says recording in progress, and probably more late nights in the office. I’ve also noted that speaking into a microphone and not a live patient tends to leave something lacking. This is just one more obstacle to overcome as I reach out in an attempt to educate people, and keep them out of hospitals and nursing homes.
Now, instead of just putting together an article for this weekly outreach, I’m having to decide on topics for a podcast. Information and encouragement to assist in podcast creation and ideas for topics would be well received.
Growth involves change. This is an area where many people struggle. It’s easy to make small changes, but to keep the change, you must exercise diligence. Anyone can begin an exercise program, but it takes diligence to continue and see fruit from your actions. To exercise diligence, desire must be present to drive that. You’ll never accomplish any difficult task unless the desire is present.
The expansion of my educating people through a podcast will involve discipline and diligence on my part, and it’s going to require more time and energy as well. I’m already working seven days a week, but I feel this is important. When we begin a project, it helps to have encouragement to keep focused until what we do becomes routine.
If you’re trying to make life changes which involves effort on your part, it helps to have a rooting section. The last thing you need are nay sayers who want to discourage you. The reason they’re that way is because they can’t see themselves overcoming obstacles in their own lives. I’ve found it important to surround myself with positive people who tend to keep me going in the right direction. The old saying you can choose your friends, but you’re stuck with your relatives is quite true. Gravitate toward being around those who support you and your vision. Don’t allow the negative of others get on you.
Patients suffering under obesity can find trying to make lifestyle changes extremely difficult. First of all, every time they see themselves in a mirror, they’re reminded of previous weight loss failures, and why they can’t succeed. These are the very folks we need to encourage and become their rooting section.
Any small encouragement can help overshadow the overwhelming issues they might be facing. We all have areas where we face temptations and addictions. These are areas where we need others to lift us up and support us. Not all of us share the same beliefs, but we all need the love and support of those around us. Look past differences and help others in their struggle with change. Chances are they will help you in your weak areas.
Today I was reminded that the three additional months of website support I’ve been paying for is coming to a close. After talking to the agent working on my site, he noted that my website only shows the visits their people have made in order to keep it visible on google. There are only five comments left on the google page. As I said, we all need a rooting section, and I could use your help to keep the website alive.
I’m requesting you google me and leave feedback. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=dr+john+a+briggs+ND+clatskanie,+or+97016&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 This can help grow my website without paying the high price of hiring a website promotion company. While you’re at it, you’ll find I archive my Dr. John’s Corners in the blog section. If you’ve missed an article, you can usually find the information here. This is also where I intend to eventually have my podcasts available.
