Spiritual, emotional, and physical oppression can ultimately affect our ability to live healthy lives. When observing other countries, their overall physical wellbeing is impacted by their feelings of security. Stress, fear, and worry all impact the chemical balance of our bodies. These chemicals in turn either maintain healthy physical expression or create disease.
I truly believe the impact of PTSD on our returning veterans carries a greater impact on the outcome of their lives than our medical professionals would admit.
I recently became reconnected with a serviceman with whom I served 45 years ago. A condition of lymphoma and stomach cancer, presently treated by the VA with chemotherapy has begun to respond after dealing with the spirit of fear that was established during a B52 strike during our 1971-72 deployment.
The environment of fear takes it’s toll on our body by altering how the hypothalamus signals both the autonomic nervous system and the entire endocrine (hormone) system. The response of fight or flight over extended periods, weakens the immune system by overloading the adrenals, and creates a heightened surveillance of our body’s immune system. Over time, this has the impact of disabling the body’s entire defense system, allowing the weakest cell, (cancer) to become a dominant force in the body.
Besides combat challenges faced by our service personnel, chemical warfare is one which has destroyed many lives. As if the mistakes of Vietnam weren’t horrible enough to our servicemen, the local inhabitants and their land, we continue to propagate these same unsafe practices right here as well. The same chemicals which caused the Agent Orange damage among our returning veterans is being used commercially on our foods.
Locally, the county has become zealous at doing roadside spraying with these same dangerous chemicals. The damage to our wildlife, local residents, and even the groundwater, streams, and fish isn’t being considered. In most cases, the damage of Agent Orange didn’t show up for years after exposure. What new diseases are we creating with these chemicals? What kind of birth defects or childhood cancers are we setting in motion?
I treat patients, extremely sensitive to these chemicals, and in more than one occasion I’ve had to go to their home to administer emergency oxygen just to keep them alive. The city wanted to spray along the curb at my office for weeds. Since I have patients who can’t even tolerate the soap isle in the grocery store, I had to go to city hall and make a specific request to avoid this poison in my personal environment, which my patients have to travel through.
As I’ve identified before, fear rules the show. I have patients that thought an area had been sprayed when it hadn’t, and they began to have all the symptoms of being poisoned. This is how powerful the mind is. We are very aware of the placebo effect, and how our belief affects so many things. This is the placebo effect in reverse.
When dealing with these toxic overloads, enhancing liver clearance is critical. Besides this, systemic detoxification helps to remove much of the hyper-responsive nature in these individuals. If there’s an issue of obesity, losing weight can actually release these toxins into general circulation from fat storage if liver clearance is ignored.
If you live in an area which gets sprayed, consider going to the county or city and demand they not compromise your environment. Get your neighbors involved as well.
On this memorial day, make sure you acknowledge a veteran, and thank them for their service. After all, they signed a blank check with their very lives for your security and peace of mind. To all my veteran brothers and sisters, Thank You for your service. You are loved.
