Similar to the results of an impaired lymphatic system would be a major city when there’s a garbage strike. Every aspect of activity and life is dramatically impacted during one of these events. Similarly, we hear the term, “Drain the Swamp” as a means of removing politicians that create waste in our government.
My dumpster is emptied every two weeks. When sea food scraps have been thrown in, it can get rather rank, especially during a hot summer day.
Emptying the dumpster is important to avoid bacterial overgrowth. Using the same reasoning, if our lymphatic system fails to clear cellular waste properly, we can see various strains of pathogenic bacteria beginning to grow there, further hindering the clearing of waste from healthy cells.
Besides the damage which can occur to the actual lymphatic system, we see the whole body suffering from a backlog of waste, resulting in changes of pH and more bacterial growth throughout the system. Lymphatic cancer can only occur when the lymphatic system has been overloaded, resulting in toxic damage within the lymph channels and nodes.
Your lymph nodes are way-stations where cellular debris is held for the phagocytes to dismantle anything which should never enter the general circulation. These are the protectors of your entire body. When enlarged and tender, it’s a sign that your garbage system being overloaded. This is when we need to evaluate how much cellular trash we’re creating through poor dietary habits and inadequate physical activity.
Just as your exterior body requires cleansing to keep it from stinking, your inner body requires cleansing as well. Dehydration is like trying to shower without water. This reminds me of when the evaporators on board ship weren’t functioning and we couldn’t take showers. That’s rough on everyone in the South Pacific where perspiration is heavy, and a whole crew of unwashed sailors got to be pretty rank. The whole ship’s body, the crew, suffered. By the same example, every cell in your body suffers from dehydration. Trash fails to be cleared and it’s just like a garbage strike in New York city.
Some adverse effects of an overloaded lymph system include autoimmune diseases. The turnover of your tissues is an ongoing process. As cells wear out and are replaced by new cells, the cellular debris, specifically the nuclear DNA of these cells must be destroyed before entering the circulatory system. This DNA carries the information about how to recreate the specific cell which is being recycled. If allowed into the general circulation intact, the same kind of cells may begin to grow anywhere in the body.
To have liver cells growing in your bones or kidney cells in your heart would be totally wrong. Because of this, if the DNA bypasses the dismantling in your lymph system, and enters the general circulation, your immune system will make anti-bodies against that particular DNA, and the birth of an autoimmune disease begins.
Keeping in mind that autoimmune diseases can come from lymphatic stagnation, it’s very important we maintain healthy lymphatic drainage. Allowing the body to go too alkaline creates a very sluggish lymphatic flow. The consumption of refined sugars puts an additional burden on lymphatic clearance. The more we impair lymphatic clearance, the more we see infections and inflammation. With October 31 coming up, I get to see more colds and flu coming through the office because of all the sweets being consumed.
Candy and pop increase lymphatic burden and changes the pH significantly enough to throw the immune system into a tailspin. There are wonderful ways to enhance lymphatic clearance. I like to use ammonium chloride to assist pH along with immune support through the thymus gland. These supports are readily available through our office.
