God’s word says that perfected love casts out fear. The more we distance ourselves from others, the more the fear will reign in our lives. That night when Jesus was born, the angel said “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”
Did you hear that, Fear not! Everything in the media is promoting fear. It’s becoming more and more important to put down our cell phones and turn off the news. Instead, we need to consider what’s really important.
During this Christmas season try to embrace the true meaning behind it. Just as God blessed us with His son to restore to us that which was given away in the garden, we need to recognize the awesome gift we’ve been given and be a gift to others.
Throughout my life of service to others, I’ve seen lots of evidence of how a person’s health is impacted by their emotions. We get to see the fruit of either positive or negative emotions daily. You have the power and authority to choose your emotions.
We live in an era of pharmaceutical dominance in which a huge portion of our population is on mind altering drugs. This should never be the case. When I see this, I have to ask the question of how could this be possible when we live in the freest nation on the planet.
When the desire for things creates greater and greater stress due to greater and greater debt, getting out of the rat race can be difficult. As we seek more things, often times we create such a huge financial debt that the depression deepens.
How often I am asked what I want for Christmas. To this I am lost to answer as I’ve found contentment in what I have. I’ve found my greatest joy in seeing others lives improved. That I believe is what the spirit of Christmas is. When we see the needs of others over our own, it’s easy to shed the depression.
I’ve experienced the joy of giving and understand the saying that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. When I decided to go into this profession, I observed the doctor that delivered me. Dr Bastyr was one of the kindest, and wisest of doctors. I could see myself following in his footsteps. He touched so many lives they named a university after him. He was always available to me when I was stumped with a patient. That’s the kind of person I desired to be and sought to follow his lead.
As you prepare for this season of love and giving, take your eyes off yourself and focus on others. You’ll find that de-stressing is one of the healthiest things you can do. As I’ve talked about all the stress handling organs of your body in the past, there are nutritional supports to strengthen these, but taking the load off of them makes the most sense.
I’ve been living in the blessing as I devote my life to the improvement of others. It’s been amazing to see my articles being shared, literally around the world. Although I’ve never asked for anything in return, and don’t intend to do so, I must thank those who have sown resources back in return. I understand the principle of sowing freely and allowing the blessings to return in abundance.
It’s our wish that each and every one of you experience the love and joy associated with a close relationship with our Lord and Savior this season and all year long. He is not only our savior, but He’s our healer, deliverer, our confidence, our comfort, our strength, our wisdom, our protector, and the friend that sticks closer than a brother, and I understand that as I have four of them that mean the world to me. Not to mention my amazing four sisters as well. Merry Christmas.
